WildAid is a unique and dynamic San Francisco-based wildlife conservation non-profit.  We are growing quickly and the Communications Manager will be a dynamic, entrepreneurial self-starter who oversees our non-programmatic communications, PR and new media outreach.  While efforts will be focused in the US, the candidate will liaise with our offices around the world, primarily China, but also including South East Asia and East Africa.  He/she will be responsible for building our US and international media, social media and on-line presence to the next level to build organizational awareness and assist in fundraising efforts.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Promote the organization for maximum exposure in US media outlets by placing stories on programs and the organization

Production and management of all press kit materials

Develop and implement a plan with measurable targets to expand WildAid's new media presence with website, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and other formats

Oversee organizational creative work

Recruit and manage pro bono creative services

Direct website redesign for WildAid.org that results in measurable improvement of the organization’s online presence and better coordination with social media channels

Maintain and update WildAid website and foreign sites where necessary

Maximize public service announcement distribution in the US

Archive all media coverage and materials

Prepare and distribute annual reports, monthly newsletter, e-blasts & press releases

Edit all reports to ensure consistent tone and WildAid "voice"

Manage all outputs conforming to brand guidelines

Support development team with donor communications and graphic design needs

Manage contractors, volunteers and interns to assist on an as-needed basis.

Other duties as requested.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

5 years minimum work experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization

Excellent writing and editing skills

Experience placing stories with top tier media

Extensive new media experience

Strong verbal communication skills

Highly-organized

 

Desirable:

Flexible with ability to problem solve creatively

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Must take initiative and have a strong work ethic

Capable multi-tasker

Familiarity with environmental advocacy and wildlife protection programs
