Description

We're looking for an organised, enthusiastic and creative intern for our small but busy communications team. Ideally, you will have some experience in communications and be able to demonstrate an interest in sustainable development.

At Forum we aim to create change by transforming organisations and the sectors they work in. We partner with a global audience of professionals working in business, the public sector bodies and civil society. We want to capture their attention, shape their thinking, change their behaviour and encourage them to use our work and share it with others.

Communications is integral to this work. The team ensures the consistency and quality of all our content. We create engaging materials to communicate our projects, including reports, animations and our web pages. And we disseminates Forum’s work through the mainstream media, through social media and through a variety of networks.

As an intern, you would benefit from exposure to a range of communications methods and processes across a variety of our projects and activities. You will assist the team with current projects and manage one or two longer-term assignments too.

Duties will change from week to week but the successful applicant could be:

  • Using our media monitoring service to record and share media coverage
  • researching pictures for on- and offline publications
  • updating the website, compiling web statistics
  • researching best ways to communicate our projects through social media and evaluating our social media work
  • helping to maintain and develop comms admin systems and processes
  • proofing publications, web pages and other copy
  • assisting with the production of audio-visual content
  • contributing to our work with creative ideas and fresh thinking

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • some experience in the media or in a communications role
  • some experience of digital and social media
  • a genuine interest in sustainable development and the Forum's work
  • experience of computer packages such as Outlook, Excel etc
  • the ability to field media calls effectively when required

  • marketing, PR and events management
  • design
  • video production/editing

Interns will be expected to commit to working three to four days a week for three months. Lunch expenses up to £5 a day and travel costs from within London (zones 1-6) can be claimed back.
