Description

The International Council on Clean Transportation seeks a versatile, enterprising associate to join the communications team in its Washington, DC, office.

The ICCT is a non-profit research group that promotes energy efficiency in the transportation sector and clean vehicle and fuels policies around the world. We do so by providing timely, accurate information and advice to government agencies, researchers, the media, NGOs, and others with a part in deciding, influencing, or reporting on those policies.

The communications associate will have a key role in ICCT's publications program, which is at the core of the organization's communications strategy, and in our outreach efforts. Working with researchers and freelance editors and designers, he or she will coordinate the editorial workflow for research papers and related policy briefings, blogs, fact sheets, and short videos. In collaboration with other members of the communications team and with the program staff, he or she will help plan and conduct publicity and outreach activities, edit the website, curate social media channels, and develop content to disseminate ICCT's technical research and policy analyses to a diverse international audience.

Qualifications

  • Superior research, writing, and editing skills
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental policy questions broadly defined; familiarity with climate issues and transportation-related policy
  • Well-organized; able to manage converging deadlines and juggle competing priorities with aplomb
  • 5–10 years relevant experience

The ICCT is a mission-driven, egalitarian, culturally diverse organization in which intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and good humor are highly valued. We offer an excellent benefits package, including a commuting subsidy. Learn more at www.theicct.org.
