Communications Assistant (Internship)

(based in Amsterdam)

 

The Corporate Communications department
As part of Fairfood’s mission to be a catalyst for change, the Corporate Communications department is responsible for ensuring for designing and implementing Fairfood International’s communications strategy in support of Fairfood’s overall goal of becoming increasingly effective as a leading voice advocating for sustainability in our global food system. Corporate Communications also provides support to the fundraising and advocacy teams and is responsible for branding and outreach via several communication channels including the website, social media, press relations and events.

Function
As a Communications Assistant you will have a versatile position, helping in developing and implementing the outreach activities that support the organisation’s communications goal as outlined in the communications strategy.  Some of the expected activities are:

  • Writing and editing articles
  • Providing social media support
  • Updating documents and doing layout
  • Print and online media monitoring
  • Researching how to improve internal communications within the communications department and in the entire organisation
  • Providing general administrative and communications support as needed


Your competences

You are presently studying at or have graduated at a higher education institution (HBO) or university or have acquired equivalent levels of working and thinking through work experience with a focus on communications. You are an English native or near-native speaker and have excellent skills in writing and editing English texts. You are analytical and goal-oriented. You are able to work independently as well as in a team. Obviously, you have an affinity with Fairfood’s objectives.

What do we offer?
This is an unpaid position, which is suited as an internship to acquire work experience in this particular field of work and at an NGO. We offer a versatile position within a young international organisation. You will have the freedom and opportunity to continue developing yourself and achieve tangible results. We value our employees and we fully recognise that flexibility in the amount of working hours might be important for you. We do expect, however, that you will work a minimum of twenty-four hours a week over a period of three months.
