Communications and Marketing Manager

The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for managing communications for the EMBARQ India, a nonprofit organization that works with local transport authorities to diagnose and solve transport problems in cities across the country, including Mumbai, Delhi, Indore, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. EMBARQ India works on sustainable transport, including pedestrian and cycling projects. EMBARQ India provides technical support and capacity-building activities to a growing roster of clients and partners at the national, state and city level. EMBARQ India is a member of the EMBARQ Network, which has partner organizations in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, and the Andean Region.

The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for managing projects related to the following:

• Bringing innovative communications tools and practices to EMBARQ-India’s clients and partners;
• Facilitating knowledge sharing, internal communication, and seamless growth within EMBARQ-India, as well as between EMBARQ-India and the rest of the EMBARQ Network;
• Raising the profile of EMBARQ-India and the EMBARQ Network with existing and potential clients, partners and donors, and;
• Increasing awareness about sustainable transport and urban planning issues by delivering strategic messages to target audiences.

As this is a new position, the Communications and Marketing Manager will begin by implementing  an overall strategy for communication. The Communications and Marketing Manager will report to the Manager of EMBARQ-India and is expected to work closely with EMBARQ’s Information, Innovation and Development team, based in Washington, D.C. and collaborate with their counterparts throughout the EMBARQ Network.
