There is now an open position as Communication Manager in The Sahara Forest Project. As Communication Manager you will have the opportunity to take part in an exciting business venture at the cutting edge of sustainability where communication is an integral part of our core activities.

We seek an accomplished and motivated person for the position as Communication Manager. Working with the CEO, the Communication Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of communication policies and communication strategy, as well as aligning this work with the broader strategic development of The Sahara Forest Project. Further, the Communication Manager is responsible for generating awareness and positive attention towards the concept of Restorative Growth and The Sahara Forest Project organization and activities.

As Communication Manager you will be working from the headquarters in Oslo. You will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Internal and external communications plans and policies
  • Maintaining a strong brand for The Sahara Forest Project
  • Profiling of The Sahara Forest Project in relevant media
  • Communication delivery commitments towards funders and partners 
  • Media releases, opinion articles and other articles 
  • Web-pages and social media
  • Prepare materials, including brochures, posters, newsletters and internet text
  • Coordinate seminars, events and launches

You are a structured and goal oriented person with:

  • Solid communication experience, knowledge and understanding of what is required to get attention in today's media
  • A strong ability and passion to communicate technology, sustainability and innovation in an easily accessible format
  • Fluent in English with strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Some experience in layout, design and publishing
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and within a small dynamic team
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and organizational skills 
  • Some capacity for travel

The salary for this role will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
