Job Description: Commercial Manager Reporting to: Country Manager Portugal. Location : Lisbon, although there will probably be extensive travel within Portugal and on occasions to other Airtricity locations in Europe Summary: Airtricity is seeking to appoint a Commercial Manager to manage the commercial aspects of Airtricity’s extensive wind farm development asset portfolio in Portugal. Commercial Manager Role The Commercial Manager will be responsible for evaluating greenfield development acquisition opportunities for Airtricity within Portugal. He will also be responsible for maximising the revenues streams from the development assets through participation in government supported feed-in tariff schemes and/or market-based sales of energy and renewable products. The Commercial Manager will join Airtricity’s expanding team in Portugal and will be a key member of the team in helping the Country Manager evaluate business opportunities. The following are the key tasks to be undertaken within the role: Key tasks will include the following: - Economic analysis of windfarm and hydropower opportunities in Portugal.
- Working in conjunction with the Corporate Finance team in Dublin, build appropriate economic models to evaluate windfarm and hydropower opportunities.
- Preparation of Investment approval documents and co-ordination of due diligence required for acquisition opportunities.
- Ensuring that project managers keep to budgets and submit reasonable projections of costs for inclusion in capital approval papers.
- Working in conjunction with Country Manager, identify partners in Portugal who could collaborate on joint development of windfarms, formation of joint ventures and business co-operation opportunities.
- Negotiation with other counterparties in Portugal to assess potential of joint venturing or swapping of wind farm sites
- Maximisation of the revenue streams from wind farm developments in Portugal
- Lead negotiator on all aspects of power offtake agreements and sale of green attributes of the wind farms
- In conjunction with Country Manager, preparation of strategy and business planning for Airtricity’s business unit in Portugal.
Education and Experience: - Degree qualified, preferably in a numerical discipline
- Experience in the building and maintenance of detailed financial models, capable of being used to evaluate investment opportunities.
- Understanding of business risk analysis and techniques to mitigate
- Knowledge of financial close and due-diligence requirements for project financing
- Understanding of energy markets
- 5 years of experience working in a financial role, preferably with a background in project financing or project economic evaluation.
