POSITION SUMMARY The Colorado River Delta Coordinator coordinates all aspects of The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) work in the Colorado River Delta. S/he will provide programmatic support, strategic guidance and coordinate the implementation of projects in the Colorado River Delta in close coordination with TNC’s Colorado River Program, TNC Arizona, and TNC’s Gulf of California Program. The Colorado River Delta Coordinator will be a position within the Mexico and Northern Central America (MNCA) Oceans Team and will report to the Oceans Director. The base location for the position will be in Mexicali, Baja California (preferred) or in La Paz, Baja California Sur. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Colorado River Delta Coordinator oversees priority projects in the Colorado River Delta, and will serve as the principle contact for TNC in the area. S/he positions the Conservancy as a major conservation partner, defines conservation priorities, coordinates with internal and external partners, and builds strategic, scientific, and technical capacity in the field. S/he widely communicates solutions and best practices, and engages support within the Conservancy and the conservation community. The Colorado River Delta Coordinator develops key partnerships with conservation organizations, as well as with the public and private sector, supporting the negotiation of complex and innovative solutions to restore water flows to the Colorado River Delta.
