Description

The Nature Conservancy seeks a ColombianAmazon Conservation Coordinatorfor an anticipated USAID-funded program called AmaZONAS Andinas. The 3-5 year program will develop pilot projects in defined geographies in Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru that demonstrate and test approaches to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+), focus on at-risk forests, achieve impact at scale, and that influence larger land-use planning and policy processes and forest conservation goals to demonstrate how to move toward net-zero deforestation at scale over the long-term.

The ColombianAmazon Conservation Coordinatorwillmanagethefield workl in Colombia,incoordinationwith partnersand theMesa REDD.S/Hewill haveexpertisein forestcarbon activitiesaswell asknowledgeand experienceof forestconservation in theAmazon. TheConservation Coordinatewill alsosupporttheProgramManager, and the DeputyProgramManager tofulfill the monitoring,reporting,andevaluation requirementsofthisproject. The Colombian Amazon Conservation Coordinator will report directly to the Deputy Program Manager.
