Wigan & Leigh College is a large general Further Education College and will provide an excellent diverse work experience opportunity. Wigan & Leigh College has had an Environmental Policy since 1997 and within budgetary and staffing constraints has embraced the sustainability agenda from this time. The successful candidate would be based in the Environmental Services Department managed directly by the Head of Department. They would work closely with the Estates Team in Environmental Services but also across college to reduce energy and water consumption. Wigan & Leigh College has implemented a number of environmental programmes but the impact has been limited. We require someone to be the catalyst and prime mover to drive forward the College’s environmental and sustainable development agenda, to improve the College’s environmental performance in general but initially specifically focused on energy management and carbon reduction.
