Collection Associate

The Collection Associate handles the day-to-day collections of Organic Valley including Organic Meat Company, and Organic Logistics receivable as assigned.  Call on past due invoices obtaining commitments and/or payment arrangements consistent with company objectives.  Determine when/if customers orders should be released or held. Work with Credit Manage/Sales to resolve credit issues.

Duties:

Make collection calls and coordinate payment arrangements as necessary to collect receivables. Order release – responsible for placing customers on hold when their account is past due and release from hold according to account status. Cash Application – Organic Valley, Organic Logistics, and Organic Prairie. Assist with customer account credit issues as deemed necessary. Work with Regional Sales Managers, MSAP Department, and other internal departments to facilitate processes. Fax invoices / credit memos to customers as requested. Willingness to accept additional responsibilities. Utilize relevant reports in ERP and Crystal.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a two year accounting degree from a technical college or equivalent experience in the credit / collection field. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other similar computer packages. Knowledge of the dairy industry preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work.
