Description |
Coed Cymru (Woodland) Officer £27,052 to £30,011pa 3 year contract Based at Cilrhedyn near Fishguard Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is one of Britain’s most iconic protected areas, renowned for a wide range of valued landscapes and habitats in a limited area. Key to the long term protection of woodlands within these landscapes is to promote economic use of timber products: this is at the heart of the Coed Cymru Officer role. Enabling landowners across Pembrokeshire to access grants for woodland management and planting, you will also provide practical guidance to implement programmes. Managing the team at the woodland centre at Cilrhedyn in the Gwaun Valley will give you opportunities for further development and production of woodland products - sourced from sustainable woodlands. Your challenge is to achieve a financially self sustaining woodland centre, with products that are effectively targeted and marketed. This is a multi-faceted role with staff management and budget responsibilities, requiring the ability to form lasting business relationships and to provide first class customer service while working towards the aims of the Park Authority and its partners. A commercial approach and evidence of business experience is essential although you’ll apply these within a wider set of objectives. This post is supported with funding from Countryside Council for Wales, Coed Cymru, and the Welsh Government. We offer flexible working arrangements, along with training opportunities, a relocation package where appropriate and access to the local government pension scheme. We plan to interview for this post on 18thJuly 2012.
