Description

The Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning Program at Ocean Conservancy is looking for an intern for spring quarter/semester. Ocean Conservancy works to protect, maintain, and restore healthy ocean ecosystems by creating concrete solutions to threats to our coasts and ocean and by promoting sound, practical policies to protect our ocean and improve our lives. Ocean Conservancy works in six main program areas, including coastal and marine spatial planning (CMSP). Please seehttp://www.oceanconservancy.org/our-work/marine-spatial-planning/ for a description of the CMSP program.

The intern will be responsible for helping update our stakeholder database, compiling daily news articles on items related CMSP for a weekly team update as well as a monthly stakeholder newsletter, and conducting occasional research to support our advocacy efforts with the Administration, Congress, and stakeholders. Additional responsibilities may include the transfer of program activities, files, and deliverables to our intranet system.

S/he should be comfortable using Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with ocean policy a plus but not required. Please send a resume, cover letter, and brief writing sample to Kevin Dowling at kdowling@oceanconservancy.org.
