CMCC is willing to hire talented, motivated and proactive researchers to cover five open positions on climate change and sustainable development economics.The location is CMCC premises in Milan or in Venice (Italy), hosted in the premises of Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), CMCC founding member.
The primary purpose for these positions is to carry out applied and/or econometric research using both analytical and numerical methods in one or more of the following areas:

  • Integrated  climate-change impacts and policy (mitigation and/or adaptation) assessment modeling;
  • Computable general equilibrium, input-output modeling;
  • Land use and forestry economics/modeling;
  • Adaptive capacity to risk posed by extreme climatic and meteorological events, Financial and economic instruments for risk management and sharing
  • (Terrestrial/marine) biodiversity and ecosystem services.

The research activities will be performed in cooperation with the Research Programme on Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCSD) ofFondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), CMCC founding member.

The desired qualifications are:

  • Ph.D. (or be close to completion) in economics or energy engineering, mathematics, or physics, coupled with a solid economic background. Four-year (full time equivalent) research experience may substitute the Ph.D. degree;
  • Experience in conducting applied and/or econometric research using both analytical and numerical methods in one or more of the aforementioned areas;
  • Excellence knowledge of the English language.

The initial appointment is for 12 months starting from September/October 2013 and can be renewed. Gross salary is competitive and will be based on qualification and experience.
