The SPCA Wildlife Care Center located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an Animal and Wildlife Care Center of The Humane Society of the United States, is seeking a Clinic Coordinator, who under the direction of the Director of Clinic Operations will perform routine laboratory and clinical procedures as well as medical tests for wildlife and exotic/domestic animals.  In addition, the Clinic Coordinator will manage the Veterinary Technicians and administrative aspects of the Veterinary department.  Other duties include but are not limited to: ordering all medical and office supplies for the hospital; maintaining inventory and budget documentation; creating Standard Operating Procedures for tasks pertinent to the hospital; organizing, ordering and maintaining all equipment and supplies related to the surgical area; assisting with hiring new veterinary assistants/technicians; training new veterinary assistants/technicians; assisting the Director, Clinic Operations with the facilitation of medical staff meetings and ensuring that minutes are produced; maintaining the medical library and the controlled substance log; striving for the hospital to meet regulations of USDA/OSHA/DEA/health department, etc; reporting to the Director, Clinic Operations on staff, budget, and animal issues; filling in for Director, Clinic Operations, or attending with Director, Clinic Operations; relevant meetings, orientation, etc; acting as a liaison to other departments and attending their meetings as necessary; scheduling veterinary technician/assistant shifts (monthly).  Certified Technician experience with avian/exotic/wildlife species, preferably in the state of Florida, and experience in management, or willingness to learn necessary skills highly desired. Must stay up to date on current techniques and fulfill CE requirements.
