The focus areas of Climate Change research in CGER include climate and impact modelling, impacts and vulnerability assessment, adaptation and mitigation strategies. TERI is looking for recruiting bright and talented candidates who have to work in the areas of Climate and Impact modeling.

1. Thrust area - Climate Modelling

Climate Simulation by Global and Regional Models
Diagnostic Study of Climate Variability
Downscaling using Dynamical or Stochastic Modelling

Qualifications

Master's degree or a Doctorate in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Geophysics, Oceanography, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics from a recognized university/institution

Work experience

A minimum 2-3 years research experience in Atmospheric, and/or Oceanic Sciences related to Weather and Climate

Skills

Proven expertise in any of the research areas like Diagnosing Climate Variability, Climate Simulation by Global or Regional Climate Models, Climate Dynamics, Climate Prediction, Ocean-Land-Atmosphere interactions in the Tropics, Aerosol Feedback, Statistical analysis of Weather and Climate data

Master's degree or a Doctorate is Agriculture Science, Mathematics Agronomy, Statistics or related subjects, Biology, Biodiversity, Hydrology, Water Resources, Civil Engineering, Climate Science, Forestry, Environmental Ecology, Public Health, Community Medicine, Political Science, Bayesian Statistics from a recognized university/institution

Work experience

A minimum 2-3 years experience of research in Climate Change Impact Assessment in the sector of Agriculture, Water, Biodiversity, Health, Socio-Economic, Policy, Integrated impact assessment

Skills

Proven expertise in any of the research areas like Crop Growth Models, Climate Change, Agronomy, Hydrology, GIS, Agro-forestry, Public Health, Environmental Epidemiology, Bayesian statistics, Econometric Analysis, Statistical modeling, Non-Linear Time Series Analysis, Policy Models, Quantitative and Qualitative Modeling, Coupler Designing, Scale Analysis

BE, BTech (Mech)/ Chemical/ Environment Engg with atleast five years of work experience. Excellent in analytical and reporting skills. Knowledge on technical as well as policy aspects.  Candidiates with postgraduate in Energy Management/ GHG audits/ BEE EA/ EM qualification will be preferred.
