Our UK-based Environmental Policy team provides policy, technical and economic advice on the development of environmental policy and business response to policy at a strategic level. We work for a variety of clients such as the European Commission and various UK Central Government Departments, as well as for international agencies, industry trade associations, individual companies and other countries’ national governments.
Our work directly affects the development and implementation of climate change policy in the UK, EU and beyond. We have a long track record and an exciting portfolio of contracts including the recent re-award of a major four year framework contract on policy development and assessment in relation to climate change for the European Commission, for which we are leading a consortium of some of Europe’s top climate change specialists. We are widely regarded as one of the top consultancies in relation to the EU Emissions Trading System and other climate-related policies, having provided support to the European Commission, national governments and industry over many years. We have ambitious plans to consolidate and build upon our current position as leading advisors on climate change policy and are seeking a senior, high calibre individual to take a leading role in developing and implementing our 2015 strategy for growth. This encompasses direct opportunities with external clients as well as provision of the team’s expert skills and experience to support a range of high profile projects undertaken by AMEC at an international level. The role will include business development, project delivery as well as management/direction of individual projects and providing technical direction to more junior staff. It may also involve staff management responsibilities.
