ECODIT is seeking a climate change specialist who can contribute on a full- or part-time basis to providing technical assistance on a USAID-funded project, including: • Vulnerability analyses and other climate-related assessments; • Interpretations of the implications of climate models for countries in various regions (including Asia); • Methodology for improving integration of climate change within USAID missions’ portfolios; • Methods of integrating climate change across sectors; • Analyses of current infrastructure projects’ resilience to climate change and where future projects are including adaptation in their design; • Gender analyses specific to climate, and • Monitoring and evaluation.
The project is expected to last two years. The specialist will be based in Washington DC or at the specialist’s home, with potential travel to the field and/or Washington DC as required.
Applicants must have 5-10 years experience in climate change issues. It is preferred that this experience be in the implementation of climate change (ideally, adaptation) programs. Experience with USAID is strongly preferred. Experience in Asia and/or in other developing countries is also strongly preferred.
