Primary Responsibilities

• To assist in maintaining a record of CDM project related activities to comply with UNFCCC’s requirements.
• To assist in controlling the implementation and use of SGS CCP staff approval procedures
• To coordinate the execution and delivery of CDM and Voluntary Activities for the SGS Group to ensure services are delivered to agreed standard.

Global Technical Manager (GHG Projects)

Specific responsibilities

• Assist the Global Technical Manager with new methodology submissions fpr completeness checks preparing New Methodology (NM) submission proposals, sending and following up with clients/affiliates;maintenance of a database of all NM submissions to the UNFCCC together with regular follow-ups with the UNFCCC Secretariat, as required, ensuring consistency and professionalism to the accreditation body (UN) and the clients at all times. .
• liaise with CCP UK team members regarding invoicing and release of payments from the clients. Acknowledgereceipts of specific communications received from UNFCCC as agreed with Global Technical Manager, and circulate the information to the relevant audit teams for completion of action required, ensuring key performance indicators are met.
• assist the Global Technical Manager in updating the validation and verification protocols for the existing and new schemes. collating information from relevant websites, comparing the changes vis-à-vis previous versions and updating the existing protocols to address the changes, thus providing the global team of auditors and consequently clients with up to date information
• maintain minutes of the conference calls with the CCP teams.as quality records o for regular surveillance or re-accreditation.
• liaise with the UK Operations coordinator/CDM Certification manager to organise the file administration and archives to maintain effective housekeeping to required internal quality standards and accreditation requirements.
• assist in the organisation of training courses and training support activities. This will ensure that trainings are organised efficiently and records are maintained and updated .
• maintain a database on performance matrix & the request for reviews/full reviews, staff involved and the reasons for request for reviews and assist the Global Technical manager to coordinate and monitor the planning and delivery of answers to the UNFCCC for Corrections requested by the UNFCCC and keep records of all such requests to ensure statistics can be generated and performance judged.

• Respond to telephone and email enquiries related to Climate Change Programme (CCP) to ensure timely responses are provided to clients and affiliates.

Experience
Essential
• Experience in working with procedurally driven management systems.
• Experience in business coordination.
Desirable
• Exposure to Greenhouse Gas emissions market
• Previous experience working in a customer services role.

Skills

Skills & Knowledge
Essential
• Good working knowledge of business software packages and databases, in particular excel to advanced level.Excellent organisational skills, with excellent housekeeping skills and record keeping, both hard and soft copy.
• Excellent communication skills (including good written and spoken English).
• Knowledge of the Kyoto Protocol, UNFCCC CDM/JI rules and the SGS Procedures for delivering CDM/JI and Voluntary services.
• ability to understands and apply SGS internal briefings and UNFCCC procedures and their implications on the contractual requirements;
Desirable
• Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
Qualifications
Preferred
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Science, management or economics
