Project activities are schedules to take place in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The specialists will support the climate change coordination center with respect to climate impact assessment and monitoring. In selected DMCs, the specialists will
Deliver a climate change adaptation model suitable for each country’s conditions, including full documentation of the assumptions made, basis for the assumptions, data requirements, and data formats;
Provide training and advice to downscale global circulation models for selected river basins to develop longer-term climate change projections;
Develop different climate change scenarios and analyze their impacts on water, ecosystems, food, coastal areas, and health;
Develop approaches for improving predictions of temperature and rainfall to assess future agro-climatic conditions;
Prepare and submit a formal report on the impacts analysis; and
Provide training and guidelines on climate change impact analysis.
