Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for the management and implementation of validation and verification assignments for GHG inventories and emission reduction projects.
Reporting to
Director, SGS Climate Change Program
Specific responsibilities
•Partner with regional and global management team and undertake the detail driven project management and auditing of new and existing clients.
•Participate in core team marketing and sales activities and support the organization on such activities.
•Monitoring of climate policy and new developments of GHG verification programs.
•Maintain current knowledge of advances in technology, auditing, etc., by attending seminars, lectures, meetings, technical working groups and professional conferences.
Profile
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Natural Resource Management or other transferable discipline.
•A minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years (senior role) or 3 to 4 years (auditor role) experience in a comparable role or with large audit firm.
•Auditing/consulting experience of Environmental Management Systems and/or financial auditing is required.
•Strong technical and scientific background in e.g. mechanical, civil or chemical engineering, forestry. Energy sector or other relevant experience will be an advantage.
•Advanced knowledge of GHG policies, programs, protocols and standards, in particular: CDM, WBCSD/WRI GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, VCS, CCBA
•Audit experience in greenhouse gases, ISO 9000 or ISO 14001 (preferably lead auditor qualification).
•Fluency in the English language (verbal/written).
•Frequent travel is anticipated.

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups both within the organization or while representing the organization.
•Ability to analyze and interpret information in order to generate reports through internal software for needs analysis, and other demographic data that would be used by internal/external partners.
•Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to use initiative and judgment.
•Ability to work effectively under pressure while working on multiple projects concurrently while ensuring achievement of different deadlines.
•Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and other office applications.
