International Programme Advisory Team (IPA) Maternity Cover, 9-11 Months, part-time, 21 hours per week £28,370- £33,410 + a job premium of £5488.00 (salary and premium will be pro-rata) Based in London EC1V Climate change is already having a major impact on children around the world. As the world's leading children's organisation UNICEF is responding with programmes in developing countries, by advocating for change and supporting a shift to a green and equitable economy. In the UK, we are accessing climate financing for country programmes and initiating innovative partnerships, advocating for greater recognition of the role of children in climate policy making, and the importance of prioritising child rights in climate change solutions. Our Climate Change Advisor is the organisation's expert, both internally and as a public facing spokesperson. Working closely with our corporate partnerships team, you will drive our innovation in climate change fundraising and provide expert support on climate change fundraising and advocacy, This is a great opportunity for a Climate Change specialist to make a real difference, ensuring that UNICEF UK is an environmentally responsible organisation and, working with our teams, initiating projects, research and providing expert advice. This is a key role in liaising with UNICEF globally, with UNICEF HQ and with country and regional offices, to support the organisation's global efforts in tackling climate change, and in developing UK work based on the needs identified by UNICEF internationally. You will have good working knowledge of UK based climate financing opportunities, and of how the climate adaptation agenda is evolving internationally. Your successful track record of planning, managing and leading significant cross-organisation projects and achieving realistic objectives is essential, as are excellent communication, influencing and fundraising skills.
