Ernst & Young is developing a Climate Change and Sustainability practice in order to respond to the growing need for guidance by our clients in this area. Greenhouse gas regulations are being introduced in Canada, and will be a significant driver in our market. We are currently advising a number of large Canadian companies in this area, and are providing assurance services on sustainability reports and greenhouse gas inventory emission schedules. We are looking to expand our team of professionals focused on providing high value, independent, trusted advice to our clients as they transition to a carbon constrained economy. Our clients include many of today's leading global companies, innovative growth companies and other Publicly Accountable Enterprises.

Responsibilities:
Take a lead role in developing our Climate Change and Sustainability practice in the Western provinces. Develop/maintain strong working relationships with key business decision makers to communicate value and inform them of the firm's scope of services. Provide guidance/expertise in the delivery of our climate change and sustainability auditing and advisory services, with an emphasis on complex and/or specialized issues within assurance and / or technical accounting capacities.
Working in a team environment, provide sustainability and greenhouse gas assurance, assist clients in their efforts to identify, measure and appropriately manage the business and reporting risks that they face as they transition their organizations to respond to changing government environmental and greenhouse gas regulations.
Identify/communicate trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the client's industry and marketplace.
Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team. Successfully delegate to all levels of staff. Conduct performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to performance feedback/training. Foster teamwork and lead by example.
Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills. Maintain cooperative relationships with other engagement teams. Monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan and alter it when needed.
Actively contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Assurance Services practice by taking operational responsibility and accountability for engagements and delivery teams. Support client relationships, business development and account management leadership. Represent the practice in management forums and support the rapid, profitable growth of the business as a member of the management team.
