We’ve been leading the way on corporate climate action for over 25 years and we’re targeting net zero carbon emissions in our business by 2045. Now we’re going even further to help tackle the climate emergency and other environmental challenges. We can only do that if we have a strong reporting capability in place to understand our performance, gain insights on how we can improve further and to demonstrate leadership and progress toward our ambitious goals.
You'll have the following responsibilities
• Responsible for timely and accurate provision of climate and environmental data and insight for BT globally • Regular reporting, forecasting and insight on BT’s emission intensity reduction target and other goals relating to public targets and items included in the Group scorecard/KPIs. • Presentations to senior leaders on progress • Make sure and keep pace with relevant legislation to maintain compliant reporting, and landscape mapping to enable leadership in relation to new and emerging best practice reporting trends • Provide input to the development of automated reporting and analytic capabilities on climate/environment • Work with stakeholders across BT to formalise reporting and build a sense of shared commitment to our climate plans and targets • Deliver legislative and compliance activities around environment to ensure BT meets its obligations and requirements for continued certification to ISO 14001, thus enabling the timely accurate advice of what the company needs to do to meet its legal obligations. • Content provider on climate/environment to Annual and Sustainability reports, and other materials • Oversees assurance process for all climate and environmental data including third party assurance • Provision of climate/environmental data to support investor indexes/ratings and other key ratings • Provide specialist environmental advice to the business such as carbon reporting guidelines and emission factors, e.g. DEFRA conversion factors • Oversee production of the CDP and Carbon Trust accreditation as well as extensive liaison with expert partners to drive further innovation and leadership • Work with third party suppliers and BT colleagues on carbon methodologies, eg BT’s Scope 3 reporting and analysis
