The position: CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences seeks a motivated individual to develop appropriate methods for translating the ongoing developments from climate science into information needed for decisions at farm, catchment and government levels. The successful candidate will provide both programming and research support in the integration of climate risk management into broader decision-making at the policy, community and individual enterprise levels. The successful candidate should have demonstrated programming skills as well as a working knowledge of climate variability and change as well as farming systems, in order to undertake scientific research, modelling and simulation of the impacts of climate change and climate variability on agricultural and pastoral resources. Existing large international, national and regional projects provide opportunities for a new Climate Analyst to contribute to the integration of climate risk management into farming systems management and decision-making.
