PRIMARY PURPOSE
Support the Corporate environment function and provide support for addressing strategic environmental issues. In support of achieving the Exelon 2020 goal:
- manage the implementation and maintenance of the Exelon Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory Management Plan, including annual plan reviews and revisions, in coordination with the operating companies (OpCos);
- maintain opsGHG (the GHG inventory database); and
- Support communication of Exelon's actions and commitments to improve environmental performance, especially on the issue of climate change; maintain the environment content on the Exelon website; produce the annual Exelon Sustainability Metrics report and support the preparation of internal and external communications on environment issues, including Exelon 2020.
Contribute to enhancing Exelon's reputation as an environmental leader by managing the preparation of responses to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, supporting the preparation of responses for the Carbon Disclosure Project and other corporate sustainability surveys. 
Compile quarterly energy use performance data in support of reporting progress to senior leadership. 
Perform analysis and research on emerging environmental and sustainability issues. 
Support development of relationships with key environmental stakeholders.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.  Serve as the Exelon GHG Inventory Manager - Implement and maintain the Exelon GHG Inventory Management Plan (IMP):
- Conduct annual reviews of the plan to identify required updates and recommend enhancements;
- Coordinate across the company to ensure the integrity (completeness and accuracy) of the GHG emissions data;
- Compile quarterly GHG emissions reports for the Corporate Scorecard;
- Prepare a year-end summary of the annual GHG emissions;
- Support the development of annual GHG reduction goals for Exelon 2020;
- Manage the third party GHG Inventory validation process when commissioned;
- Coordinate the software upgrades to ensure the functionality of the opsGHG database;
- Coordinate the implementation of modifications to opsGHG to enable it to support mandatory OpCo GHG reporting to the US EPA; and
- Maintain a current working knowledge of the GHG accounting protocols (e.g. US EPA Climate Leaders, DOE 1605(b), WRI/WBCSD) and provide consultation to the OpCos on the measurement and analysis of GHG emissions.

2.  Communications: Support internal and external communications on strategic environment issues.
- Maintain the Exelon Internet site environmental content, coordinating periodic updates throughout the company, and preparing the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Index;
- Manage the development of the annual Exelon Sustainability Metrics Report;
- Support the development of the Exelon 2020 Update Report;
- Coordinate and support the preparation of responses to external environment surveys and sustainability reports, e.g., Dow Jones Sustainability Index and Carbon Disclosure Project; and,
- Support the preparation of internal and external communications materials on strategic environment issues and Exelon 2020 (e.g., presentations, briefing sheets, press releases).

3.  Research and Analysis - Perform research and analysis on strategic environmental issues in support of the developing recommendations for senior leadership (e.g., GHG emission protocols, alternative fuels, water resources, emerging energy technologies, legislation, regulation, and stakeholder issues).

4.  Energy Use Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Compile OpCo energy use performance data, perform analysis and support development of quarterly reporting for senior management;
- Support development of the annual year-end performance report on overall energy use; and
- Support the development of annual energy use performance goals.

5.  Stakeholder Relationships: Support development of relationships with relevant key external environmental stakeholders, government officials, and non-government organizations (NGOs) who influence Exelon's environmental reputation and its public environmental policy advocacy (e.g, Pew Center on Global Climate Change, Ceres, Clean Energy Group, and others).
