Opportunity to lead our priority campaign working for a clean energy future. Term to September 2012 – Parental leave cover.
We want to live our lives to the full, while keeping our planet healthy and beautiful so our children can do the same. Revolutionising the way we use and produce energy is not only necessary; it is the safest and easiest way to protect our way of life. It’s time we chose a clean energy future. We are seeking an experienced Campaigner to lead and manage Greenpeace Australia Pacific's Energy Campaign Team and develop strategies to motivate all sections of our community to act. This is a critical role within Greenpeace Australia-Pacific with responsibility for leading, developing and delivering our priority campaign. You will lead and manage Greenpeace Australia-Pacific’s Energy team of three Campaigners to achieve campaign objectives. This involves leading the implementation of tactics that change public, government and business behaviour and actively representing Greenpeace in public activities, the business, scientific and government sectors, and the media. You will be using your outstanding leadership and people management skills, together with your strong strategic abilities and demonstrated ability to achieve environmental campaign objectives. A thorough understanding and knowledge of climate change and energy issues, in the national and/or international context is also essential, as are excellent communication and organising skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. As well as the opportunity to make a difference on crucial issues, Greenpeace offers employees a supportive work environment and a real commitment to life/work balance. We also encourage staff to develop new skills, take on challenges and get involved in the wider organisation. This is a full-time (35 hours per week) term to 10 September 2012, based in Sydney.
