Climae Change and Land Use Consultant

Role and responsibilities: A climate change and forestry consultant is sought to support the existing team working on REDD+ and agriculture policy, projects, and transactions. The work will include conducting research and analysis on REDD+ policy and projects, helping to prepare advice for clients based on this research and analysis, contributing to project due diligence, participate in outreach and acquisition, with some tailoring based on the consultant’s experience. The post will involve international travel.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in forestry, forest policy, or the carbon markets, or a master’s degree and a demonstrated interest in climate change; candidates with more experience are also encouraged to apply
• Experience or knowledge of REDD+ required, experience with other areas of climate change and/or climate finance desirable
• Adaptable and fast learner with strong inter-personal and time management skills
• Results oriented, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach to work 
• Able to work independently and as part of a team on multiple assignments
• Excellent research, analysis, and writing skills
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Fluency in English required. Strong Spanish skills are an additional selection criteria.

Remuneration and benefits: Competitive salary commensurate to applicant’s experience plus annual bonus. Benefits include medical and pension plan.
