Job Title                    Cleaner Responsible to       Visitor Centre Manager                     Salary                        £5.73 per hour Working Hours       20 hours per week mainly 5 days x 4 hours but can be flexible. Post will require working some weekends and early mornings. Job Summary          The cleaner is a member of the Visitor Centre Department, responsible for maintaining the 3 on-site toilet blocks and staff toilet and bathroom in a clean and hygienic state.  These responsibilities will be programmed through a detailed Cleaner’s Work Plan as established by the line manager. Responsibilities Core Activities as prescribed in the Cleaner’s Work Plan 
  • To clean all the sinks, toilets and urinals on the Visitor Centre Circuit plus the staff toilet and bathroom.
 
  • To dust and wipe ledges and handles.
 
  • To refill towel and soap dispensers.
 
  • To sweep and mop floors.
 
  • To check for and remove cobwebs
 
  • To empty paper towel bins.
 
  • To inform line manager of janitorial supplies and restocking needs.
  Contractual Requirements 
  • To take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others with whom you work.
 
  • To comply with CAT’s Health and Safety Policy in all aspects of work including the controlled use of substances hazardous to health.
 
  • To comply with CAT’s policy on the use of environmental cleaning products.
 
  • To maintain a reasonable level of personal presentation including the use of staff clothing.
 
  • To provide sufficient personnel cover during the holiday season as programmed in the Cleaner’s Work Plan.
