Clean Energy Outreach Associate - Hartford, CT Area

We are seeking outgoing, passionate and enthusiastic Outreach Associates to drive our community education and activation efforts through door-to-door, event promotion, and community outreach campaigns for our Northeast Clean Power Program. The ideal candidate will be a stellar communicator, committed to environmental causes and renewable energy, and comfortable with engaging with the general public to promote our regional programs.

Responsibilities:

• Increase awareness and participation in local sustainability programs by approaching customers, delivering pitches, and discussing the program benefits

• Participate in team door-to-door Courtesy Knock campaigns

• Perform outreach at community events and storefronts; including transporting and setting up booths, displays, tents, and banners

• Set up displays, tents, banners, and booths for events and properly store and maintain all equipment and materials

• Maintain or exceed a minimum enrollment average rate

• Complete administrative duties promptly after each shift

• Adhere to all customer service and safety policies

• Meet with the regional Outreach Coordinator and attend team meetings/trainings

• Work 10-20 hours per week, which may include weekdays, weeknights, and weekends

• Shifts may require employee to carry up to 50lbs, set up at events, and walk or stand up to 5 hours at a time in unpredictable weather

Requirements:

• Passion for sustainability and renewable energy

• Sales, events, or canvassing experience preferred but not required

• Must be comfortable approaching, engaging, and speaking to the general public on a regular basis

• Well spoken, outgoing and dynamic personality

• Independent self-starter

• Positive, outgoing, motivated, and enthusiastic persona

• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

• Willingness to stay on feet for 4-5 hours at a time and work in a variety of weather conditions

• Access to reliable transportation, computer, personal email account, and reliable mobile phone

Compensation:

$10.00/hour plus significant additional incentives. Eligible for 401(k) plan with employer matching program upon six-month anniversary. Eligible for rapid promotions & compensation increases.
