3Degrees is seeking a dynamic, energetic individual to serve as Part-Time Outreach Associate in Eastern Connecticut.
The Part-Time Outreach Associate will assist in outreach, education and sales activities aimed at growing 3Degrees' CTCleanEnergyOptions renewable energy product. CTCleanEnergyOptions is Connecticut’s voluntary green power program that provides electric customers the opportunity to support the development of new renewable energy through the purchase of renewable energy certificates (RECs). The Outreach Associate will play an important role in the execution of outreach, education and sales efforts for 3Degrees' CTCleanEnergyOptions product, Northeast Clean Power (northeastcleanpower.com). Northeast Clean Power is offered throughout Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) and United Illuminating (UI) electric service territories in Connecticut.
The Part-Time Outreach Associate will work collaboratively to educate and enroll customers in Northeast Clean Power through community outreach at community events, festivals, farmers markets, and storefront and community tables.
3Degrees is looking for a team player who is able to work independently. The ideal candidate will be a stellar communicator, committed to environmental causes and renewable energy, and comfortable with engaging with the general public to sell the Northeast Clean Power product.
Duties:
• Represent the Northeast Clean Power program at public tabling locations and events in order to enroll customers in the program. • Build and maintain a knowledge base on Northeast Clean Power and accurately communicate the goals and specifics of the program to customers. • Willingness to work lengthy weekend shifts at events and festivals. Work will include setting up displays, tents, banners, and booths. The Outreach Associate will be expected to store and maintain all Northeast Clean Power equipment and materials. • Coordinate closely with the Senior Associate regarding outreach and enrollment activities in the Eastern Connecticut territory. • Participate in regular meetings with the Senior Associate and other 3Degrees team members. • Attend trainings in order to become an expert in the Northeast Clean Power program and 3Degrees outreach methodology. • Meet Northeast Clean Power enrollment goals determined in coordination with the Senior Associate and 3Degrees’ national outreach team.
Qualifications:
• Proven sales and/or outreach experience preferred • Well spoken, outgoing and dynamic personality • Independent self-starter • Ability to work evenings and weekends • Must be comfortable approaching, engaging, and speaking to the general public on a regular basis • Dedication to sustainability and renewable energy • Access to reliable vehicle, cell phone, and computer with Internet access
