China Fishery & Supply Chain Manager

Introduction

MSC operates a global fisheries certification and ecolabelling program. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries and through the leadership of our partners, create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans. Over 300 fisheries around the world, landing 12 % of the annual global harvest, are now engaged at some stage of the MSC’s independent assessment process. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 100 countries.

Information on the role

This is a full time, permanent role based in Beijing. The Fisheries and Supply Chain Manager will focus on supply chain traceability and strengthening the MSC’s Chain of Custody programme for MSC certified seafood products.

Reporting to the China Programme Director, the job holder will assist in establishing the MSC’s programme in China, working within small team with office based initially within the British Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.

The job holder’s main focus will be on overseeing the MSC’s Chain of Custody programme and relationship with certifiers operating in China, including developing a detailed understanding of supply chains for MSC seafood and supply chain integrity risk areas; delivering training programmes and education on MSC Chain of Custody to certifiers, clients and stakeholders; witnessing audits, assisting with investigations, and contributing to on-going policy development.

Location: China – Beijing / Qingdao

Salary: Commensurate with experience
