Wetlands International is seeking a Chief Operations Officer (COO). The focus of the COO is on enhancing organisational effectiveness (including financial, legal, administrative, ICT and personnel aspects) and is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and improvement of the capacities and systems that enable the office network to operate effectively and to achieve sustainable organisational growth.

Wetlands International is an independent, not-for-profit, global organisation that works through a network of 20 offices worldwide, with its’ headquarters in the Netherlands.

Our mission is to sustain and restore wetlands, their resources and biodiversity. The current programmes of work build knowledge, address policies and facilitate community-based action for wetlands in relation to local livelihoods, biodiversity, water resources and climate change.

The Chief Operations Officer is the second highest ranking officer in the global organisation, serving on the Management Board which is chaired by the CEO who has the final overall responsibility.

The focus of the COO is on enhancing organizational effectiveness (including financial, legal, administrative, ICT and personnel aspects) and is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and improvement of the capacities and systems that enable the office network to operate effectively and to achieve sustainable organizational growth.
