Chief Executive

With a Royal Charter, over 6,000 Chartered Environmentalists, 24 Licensed Professional Bodies as members and a small staff executive, we have already achieved a great deal. We are seeking an experienced Chief Executive with the experience and enthusiasm to take SocEnv forwards.

Specifically we seek a proven leader, passionate about the environment with both the gravitas and set of interpersonal and business skills required to operate strongly within a growing, credible regulatory body that is supported by volunteer professionals across a variety of sectors.

The challenge:

•  Work with the Board to develop and deliver the business plan and achieve the Royal Charter Objective 
  
  

• Grow and strengthen the Society by increasing the numbers of Chartered Environmentalists through existing and new Licensed Bodies
  
  
• Position Chartered Environmentalist as the highest level of qualification available to environmental  professionals, creating added value to Chartered Environmentalists and Licensed Members
  
  
• Seek to ensure that the voice of environmental professionals, harnessed through the Society’s Licensed Members, is appropriately heard throughout government and other stake holders on key matters relating to sustainability
  
  
• Communicate effectively with Licensed Bodies,  deal with government departments and other stakeholders through appropriate media

You will be able to lead, use initiative and create opportunities; demonstrating leadership, business management experience and excellent communication skills as your key attributes.  

The SocEnv head office is currently in Atherstone, Warwickshire.  The successful applicant will be required to travel regularly to London, in support of the Society’s affairs, as well as other parts of the UK on occasion.
