FSC Australia is seeking a motivated, innovative and talented individual with the ability to build the profile of the Forest Stewardship Council in Australia while protecting the credibility and integrity of the FSC standards and developing a strong and sustainable financial base for the organisation.

FSC Australia is the Australian component of an international non-government, non profit organisation that promotes responsible forest management practices through multi-stakeholder standard setting and an internationally-recognised certification labelling program. In depth knowledge of an independent certification schemes work will be an advantage.

As a multi-stakeholder organization, FSC applies the directive of its membership to develop forest management and chain of custody standards, deliver trademark assurance and provide accreditation services to a global network of committed businesses, organizations and communities.

FSC certification provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value.

Working under the direction of the multi-chamber Board, the successful applicant will play a key role in driving and leading FSC Australia to become a regional hub for the FSC system globally, whilst being the face of the organisation to FSC International, Government, Members and Stakeholders.

This position requires a highly motivated, relationship focussed individual, with extensive experience in a multi-stakeholder, senior management role. The successful applicant will possess demonstrated skills in representing and negotiating with key government agencies, philanthropy and business to obtain funding to support the organisation.

There will be extensive domestic and international travel requirements in this role. These will involve regional meetings, conferences, training delivery and the like commensurate with the obligations of the role. As part of an international organisation, out of hours work will be required. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated to ensure recruitment of an outstanding individual.
