The National Aquarium is looking for a Changing Exhibit Manager to manage the current changing exhibit, Jellies Invasion: Oceans out of Balance, which displays nine different species of jellies and is supported by a jellies culture lab and holding facility; both local and exotic species are exhibited. The Changing Exhibit Manager is also responsible for managing the sections budget, staff and volunteer scheduling, specimen acquisition/disposition and health and exhibit upkeep. This position works to support educational programs associated with the Changing Exhibit and assists with planning,development and implementation of future changing exhibits.
Required Skills/Experience:
Requirements of this job include a Bachelors degree in Biology, Zoology or a related science or equivalent experience and 3 years experience in aquarium or zoological field with 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity. Applicants should be detailed oriented, at a senior aquarist level and have prior experience and knowledge of jellies acquisition, transport, husbandry, culture and display. Applicants should be passionate about jellies and their display and dedicated to the development, production and maintenance of high-quality and educational changing exhibits. Weekend and evening hours will likely be required.
