Description
Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service
Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project Officer (Temporary for two years)
Grade 7; £22,958 - £25,472.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service to take forward the work of the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project.
Are you able to take the lead in delivering action to protect and enhance the nationally important chalk streams resource in and around the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? If so we want to hear from you.
You will be developing and implementing the work programme of the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project, working closely with public, private and voluntary sector partners. You will seek the support and involvement of local communities and landowners, and promoting the Project at local, regional and national levels through the Water for Wildlife initiative.
You will be dynamic and confident in developing creative and innovative approaches. You will possess excellent inter-personal skills including the negotiation, consensus building and facilitation skills necessary to promote and support a wide range of partnership and community activity.
You will need to have a qualification in countryside management or similar field with experience in land management of chalk stream habitats and wildlife. Experience in fundraising is also desirable as is knowledge of protected landscape legislation. You will need to possess a full, valid driving licence and able to cope with occasional outside work in rough terrains.
The Project is a successful partnership between the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service, Environment Agency, Anglian Water, Wild Trout Trust, Natural England and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust that has delivered effective on-the-ground chalk stream protection and restoration work over the past five years and has developed as a regional and national exemplar for best practice.
The post is offered as a two year fixed term contract due to external funding, an extension may be possible should further external funding be secured. Lincolnshire County Council terms and conditions apply.
