CHAIR of GROUNDWORK SOLENT

(Unremunerated but expenses can be paid)

Groundwork is a charity creating better neighbourhoods, building skills and job prospects and helping people live and work in a greener way.   As a member of the national Groundwork Federation, Groundwork Solent delivers programmes across south Hampshire and further afield. 

Our current chair of Trustees is standing down and we are seeking an exceptional person to continue her work in driving forward our ambitions for growth and expansion.  With an increasingly challenging funding climate and the need to constantly evolve and improve within a competitive and dynamic operating environment, this is an exciting time for a new Chair to help shape our future.

The Role

• Lead the Groundwork Solent board, ensuring the highest standards of governance.
• Work with the Board , providing direction, guidance, support and challenge to the senior management team
• Work closely with our Executive Director in representing the organisation externally and influencing key partners and stake holders.

The Candidate

• Will have experience of boards and committees in private, public or charity sectors
• Will have experience of influencing at the highest level in both the public and private sectors
• Will be able to use business acumen and professional experience to aid Groundwork Solent achieve its goals.
• Will be committed to aims and objectives of Groundwork
