RA-Cert, supports the organization’s mission by delivering sustainability auditing, verification, validation and certification services based on the best available global standards. Rainforest Alliance is the registrar for more than 75% of all FSC certified forests in Quebec.

Position Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Certification Services Coordinator, the Certification Services Assistant will be responsible for providing certification services administrative support to the RA-Cert team. As part of the North America trademark team s/he will also be responsible for quality control of FSC and Rainforest Alliance on-product and promotional trademark use by RA-Cert clients in Canada and the US.S/he will be in daily contact with clients, providing guidance on trademark policies and administering approvals for trademark use. S/he will be responsible for the quality control of forms and communications with staff, consultants, and clients.

Responsibilities: 
  • Under guidance from supervisor, provide support in certification activities in the region;
  • Manage and maintain technical and administrative databases (e.g., Salesforce, SFC server and other RA-Cert databases services;
  • Ensure quality and validity of official documents and support the global publication of such documents for RA-Cert;
  • Provide certification administration services support for clients in the region;
  • Monitor and maintain the status of the certificate client portfolio (activations, suspensions, terminations, changes in scope, updating customer data, etc.);
  • Provide customer service for the region, including, but is not limited to, provide general information of Rainforest Alliance services, guidance in documents related to certification processes, and the guidelines for the FSC and Rainforest Alliance logos and seals;
  • Assist in the review and approval of trademark uses by certified clients in the region;
  • Organize and prepare training materials and PowerPoint presentations for training courses, workshops, meetings and other events, as neeeded;
  • Providing current information to auditors and clients of the region related to policies, standards, procedures, formats, etc. in a timely manner;
  • Receive, process and file electronic forms and other information related to certification services;
  • Provide support to in special projects; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • 1-2 years of general administrative office experience;
  • Written and verbal fluency in French and English required;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Must have ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines;
  • Ability to be flexible in a changing and fast-growing environment;
  • Must have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office and Internet) and comfort working with database programs; and
  • Ability to work within a team structure as well as independently, strong initiative, and excellent communication skills.
