Description

Are you an enthusiastic and engaging individual with a passion for great customer care, catering and wildlife? If the answer is yes then this could be the role for you!

Essex Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity. It has more than 37,000 members, manages and protects over 8,400 acres of land on 87 nature reserves and 2 nature parks and runs 11 visitor centres. The aim of Essex Wildlife Trust is to Protect Wildlife for the Future and for the People of Essex. It is supported financially by members, local businesses and grant making organisations. It is one of the largest of the 46 county wildlife trusts that work together throughout the British Isles as The Wildlife Trusts.

The visitor centre at Thorndon Country Park has ancient woodland, parkland, ponds, marshes and meadows. The park attracts huge numbers of people, who use the extensive network of footpaths to enjoy walking, cycling and running. Thorndon has always been one of our busiest Centre’s, but with the introduction of the Gruffalo trail it is busier than ever.

The ideal candidate will be a positive person that enjoys providing a welcoming visitor experience, thrives in a busy customer facing environment and enjoys a challenge. We are looking for a team player who has a strong admin and catering background. Food hygiene qualifications are also desirable.

Please note this role will require regular weekend working, usually alternate weekends, as part of a rota.

Working Hours: 15 per week
