Social Network Analysis: 60% of Time
Daily Point of Contact: Elizabeth Anderson
Role Description: Provide support in the research and development of a Social Network Analysis (SNA) system. This system will be used to consolidate and visualize CPM’s network of connections within the Park Service and donor communities. This visual map will help us to uncover the social pathways leading us to change agents within the network. In support of this project, the Information Technology intern with provide crucial support in the completion of the following tasks:
a. Research: (1) identify case studies where this system has been used in similar contexts in the past and analyze outcomes; (2) summarize best practices; (3) research potential software systems.
b. Implementation: (1) gather and compile data points, i.e. contact information for NPS partner and donors; (2) provide crucial technical expertise in system development, design and launch; (3) serve as primary data-entry specialist in migrating data points into software system.
Contact Relationship Management (CRM) System: 40% of Time
Daily Points of Contact: Elizabeth Anderson and Bobby Chang
Role Description: Provide support in the development, testing and maintenance of the soon to be developed Contact Relationship Management (CRM) system, which will be hosted on SharePoint. In support of this project, the Information Technology intern with provide crucial support in the completion of the following tasks:
a. Research: Research SharePoint best practices and implementation methods
b. Implementation: (1) gather and compile data points, i.e. contact information for NPS partner and donors; (2) enter data points into system; (3) business workflow development; (4) Testing and QA; (5) Support various users in dispersed locations with issues encountered and new features deployment.
Qualifications/Requirements (i.e., education, technical skills):
Technical and analytical skills related to using contact information data for strategic decision making, and networking social connections to advance an initiative. Ability to conceptualize and create user-friendly systems for contact management. Familiarity with social network software and/or interest in conducting in depth research in this area. Critical thinking, strong communication skills, attention to detail.
Creation and implementation of a Contact Relationship Management system and a Social Network Analysis tool.
