CEEweb for Biodiversity is looking for a full-time employee as

Biodiversity Policy Officer.

 

CEEweb for Biodiversity is a network of non-governmental organizations in the Central and Eastern European region. Our mission is the conservation of biodiversity through the promotion of sustainable development. CEEweb is a registered public benefit organisation in Hungary.

 

We are looking for you, if:

 

  • You are committed to nature protection
  • You have excellent advocacy skills and you can take decisive action
  • You are a proactive, self-starter person
  • You are a team-player, who is also able to carry out tasks on his/her own
  • You are a hard-working person
  • You are happy to travel to other countries in Europe if required

 

Professional tasks:

  • Coordinating CEEweb’s Natura 2000 related national and international programmes, e.g.:
    • Writing and commenting policy documents
    • Representing CEEweb’s views at national and international meetings and towards the institutions of EU as well as CEE governments (lobby)
    • Organising and facilitating workshops and working group meetings
    • Writing and disseminating reports, leaflets, etc.
  • Supporting the work of CEEweb’s Ecosystem Services Policy Officer
  • Tracking and monitoring the biodiversity related policy processes in the EU
  • Preparing and writing applications, implementing projects
  • Informing the members and donors of CEEweb about biodiversity related scientific and policy processes as well as biodiversity-related work of CEEweb
  • Communicate with the member and partner organisations of CEEweb

 

Requirements of the position:

  • Higher degree in relevant field
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience
  • User-level computer skills (Windows, Office)

 

Location: Budapest, Hungary

 

Advantages:

Experience in the field of national or international nature protection, relevant scientific experiences. Degree in economics or relevant knowledge is also an advantage.
