Manage Carbon Management Unit origination department
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the origination of Carbon abatement projects in Abu- Dhabi and abroad
Set up and execute a sound business development strategy for CARBON MANAGEMENT UNIT
Identify attractive and develop investment opportunities in accordance with CARBON MANAGEMENT UNIT strategy and business plan, in relation with the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and overall carbon market
Represents clientswith senior business partners and government institutions
Responsible for the overall performance of the Business Development department, leading the following activities role:
Originate new projects and investment opportunities
CDM opportunity assessment at sectoral and corporate levels
Screening and assessment of project leads
Deal negotiation and closing of Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements
Coordinate due- diligence and feasibility study efforts with legal, implementation and other business services departments
Structure projects and build relationships with potential partners
Build close relationships with Designated National Authorities and appropriate governmental institutions, for CDM promotion and to facilitate projects approval.
Develop seminars, industry events and organize promotional programs which help raise the awareness and develop the understanding and capacity of potential stakeholders in host countries.
Monitor regulatory environment and establish rapport with international regulators and industry leaders
Liaise with CDM implementation and engineering teams for technical assistance
Job Requirements:Education –
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Bachelor degree with emphasis on analytics (economics, science, engineering)
MBA from top tier school is preferred
Experience –
Minimum 10 years post- MBA strategic planning and business development experience
Experience in managing high performing multidisciplinary teams\Strong knowledge of carbon and energy markets with minimum 5 years of experience in originating Carbon projects
