Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide be responsible for development and execution of all the SGS CDM projects in sub-Saharan Africa. The candidate will be expected to grow CDM and other Climate Change business and client base, be a Lead Auditor under SGS policy and be responsible for the successful completion of all CDM and carbon-related projects.
Specific responsibilities

1.The generation of CDM proposals for clients in an efficient and timeous manner and consistent with the standard methodology applied by SGS.
2.The mentorship and management of CDM staff within the department
3.Client liaison and meetings for the development of further business.
4.Scheduling, implementation and completion of all CDM projects to budget.
5.Attendance and speaking at relevant conferences and other marketing occasions.
6.Administration of project budgets and monthly billing for CDM projects.
7.Generation of routine reports to SGS UK on CDM progress.
8.Participation in team teleconferences and meetings within SGS.
Profile
•Tertiary qualification in science, engineering or demonstrable relevant field
•Signed off as a Lead Auditor within SGS Group or competitor equivalent.
•Knowledge of UNFCCC CDM rules and methodologies
•Knowledge and understanding of South African and Sub-Saharan African markets and business culture.
•Full command written and verbal of the English language, French or Portuguese an advantage but not essential
•Comprehensive report writing skills.
•Solid understanding of standard accounting and billing practices
•High level proficiency in Excel & Word
•International driver’s license.

•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Independence and self motivating to run department
•Ability to train and convey concepts to colleagues
•Willingness to travel for business purposes
