HAMPSTEAD HEATH OPEN SPACES DEPARTMENT

Casual Education Rangers

Employment is on an “as and when required” basis at a rate of £13.50 per hour.

Applications are invited for the post of Casual Education Ranger working as part of a team based at Hampstead Heath. The Heath is situated just four miles from the centre of London, and is managed from the main staff yards at Parliament Hill (covering East Heath and the area up to Kenwood) and Golders Hill (covering Hampstead Heath Extension, Sandy Heath, The Hill Garden and Pergola and West Heath).

As an Casual Education Ranger, you will work closely with our team of education specialists on delivering high quality formal school sessions and informal events. You will need to be an effective and positive communicator with experience leading groups and education sessions, preferably in the environmental sector. You will have knowledge of current health and safety, and child protection legislation as well as insight into current educational practices, standards and innovations. You should possess a demonstrable interest in the environment and conservation issues.

This post requires enthusiasm for environmental education and a clear ability to communicate these ideas to a diverse spectrum of the public.

You should possess a degree or equivalent in science, geography, history, or education or have the equivalent experience.

Weekend and holiday work is required with this post. 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process the successful applicant will be required to obtain a Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure.
