Description

Carbon Footprint Assessor

The Carbon Trust currently operates two certification schemes for the measurement, management and reduction of carbon footprints and other environmental claims - through Carbon Trust Certification (CTC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Carbon Trust: 1) The Carbon Trust Standard certifies that organisations have measured, managed and reduced their carbon, water and waste. To date the Company has completed over 1000 certifications with more than 350 organisations certified against the Standard, including HP, Morrisons, B&Q, Diageo and O2. 2) The Carbon Reduction Label is a sign that organisations have measured the footprint of their products in accordance with the requirements of PAS 2050, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for product carbon footprinting, ISO 14064 and other applicable standards. It undertakes impartial certification services to UK and international clients, by certifying whether product carbon footprints submitted by a client have been calculated in accordance with these requirements. Upon successful certification companies are eligible to apply to use the Carbon Reduction Label (although this is not mandatory). This key role sits within the Carbon Trust Certification, reporting directly to the Associate Director - Certification. The main function of the Carbon Footprint Assessor is to assess whether carbon footprints, or other environmental claims, submitted by clients meet the certification requirements and are therefore eligible for certification. Secondly, the Carbon Footprint Assessor will assist the Associate Director in the development and launch of new certification methodologies and products. A critical aspect of the role is for the Carbon Footprint Assessor to work closely with the Certification team to ensure the effective management of certification projects and a high quality service to clients. A pro-active, reasonable and ethical approach will be an important characteristic of the incumbent to this role. More details of the certification service can be found on our website: www.carbontrust.co.uk
