Description

Field research assistants are needed for a new project on tufted capuchin monkeys between the 1st of May until the 1st of September, 2013. The research is focused on the interaction between nutrition and parasitism and their effects on the health status of tufted capuchins. The assistants will work in a team of doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers, and local field workers. Assistants will be based at a biological station which is approximately 400m from the Iguazu waterfalls. Iguazu National Park is covered with subtropical rainforest and is home to various animal species (e.g. jaguars, pumas, ocelots, tapirs, deers, armadillos, and toucans). The application deadline is the 15th March, 2013.

Field research assistants receive free accommodation, insurance, and are reimbursed for in-country travel costs. Binoculars, two-way radios, notebooks, boots, rain ponchos, and backpacks will also be provided, but assistants should take their own field clothes.
