Description

JF has an exciting vacancy for a research intern to work on its shrimp campaign.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to assist in the production of an accurate and compelling report assessing the environmental and social impacts of aquaculture.

The successful candidate will work closely with an EJF’s Directors and be responsible for conducting the research and producing finished text (along with appropriate graphics and images) fully referenced with recommendations for peer review.

Essential skills and experience:
Excellent academic record that includes education to degree level in an environmental or related discipline.
Proven record of producing written research.
The ability to write in a clear, concise and widely accessible manner.

Preferred skills and experience:
Understanding of fisheries ecology and aquaculture.
The research will draw directly from the world’s leading authorities and agencies, leading academic research institutes and think-tanks, alongside government and civil society development agencies.
Alongside data, researchers will be expected to identify compelling images, graphs and tables to convey their findings in the most simple and direct way.
Ability to write in a clear, concise and most of all widely accessible manner is vital.

The vacancy is for 3 months and a minimum of 3 days per week. Candidates that are able to commit for longer period are encouraged.

This is an unpaid position however travel costs within Greater London and lunch allowance will be provided.
