Campaigns Intern (Communications)

Policy and Communications Team
Two-month commitment, starting end of June 2011
Two days a week 
Based in Islington, London 

After working to ban illegal timber from the EU, Progressio is working in partnership with WWF(World Wildlife Fund) and the Woodland Trust to promote responsible timber use and raise awareness of the importance of forests in the UK and worldwide. With a main event in London and a number of smaller events around the country in August, time is tight to get the message out and make this a success! We’re looking for two budding campaigners with energy and enthusiasm to make things happen.

Skills and knowledge required

Essential

• Excellent English reading, writing and speaking skills
• Excellent attention to detail and creativity
• Ability to use initiative and work both in a team and individually
• Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills
• Initiative, enthusiasm and a proactive approach
• Professional and courteous approach
• Excellent IT skills
• Excellent team working skills
• Ability to commit to at least two months volunteering, two days per week.

Desirable

• Previous experience in marketing and PR
• Working knowledge of the Catholic and wider Christian church, as well as other faith communities.
