Job Type: Campaigns; publicity; supporters; lobbying and public awareness activities; research, writing; key messages; internal and external briefings; development and production of campaign materials. Campaigns for three NGOs: ADI, NAVS, LDF – covers animal experiments, alternatives and ADI broader issues.
ADI Mission: To educate, create awareness, and promote the interest of humanity in the cause of justice, and the suppression of all forms of cruelty to animals; wherever possible to alleviate suffering, and to conserve and protect animals and the environment.
Duties include:
- To implement and develop campaign and fundraising activity, as directed.
- Keeps directors and senior staff briefed on campaigns news and issues.
- Organise and execute activities; co-ordinates input from other staff.
- Assist in research and production of campaign materials.
- Researchas necessary, or as directed.
- Communication of information, internally and externally, as directed.
- Representation of NAVS or ADI at meetings, lobbying, etc., as directed
- Not a public speaking role
- Administrative duties; filing, general office assistance.
Qualifications and Qualities:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or relevant experience.
- At least 2 years working in a similar role or field (including in a voluntary capacity).
- Working knowledge of animal rights/protection issues.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs, especially Excel and Word; good internet skills.
- Good organisation and time-management skills.
- Excellent English and communication skills – written, oral and presentation.
- Flexible, positive approach to work; responds well to demanding environment.
- Team player, supportive of others.
- Self motivated, with total commitment to the aims and objectives of ADI.
- Vegetarian preferred.
